Update: September 15, 2026 I just had my first routine service visit for my new HVAC heat pump unit. I received a message reminding me of my appointment the day before and another message letting me know when the technician was on the way. I appreciate that kind of attention to detail. The technician arrived on time and performed the following services: 1. Removed the access panels on the unit and checked the electrical components to ensure that they were within specifications and that all wires were routed properly. 2. Cleaned the condenser and evaporator coils to improve the efficiency of the unit. 3. Ensured the water drain was clean and working properly. 4. Cleaned the exterior of the unit. 5. After putting on protective shoe covers he entered the house and got the unit started. He also put a temperature sensor in the vent where the air enters the living room. He explained that while some technicians from competing companies put a gauge on the refrigerant lines to check the pressure, he did not do that as it allows a small amount of refrigerant to leak out each time the pressure is checked. If that is done enough times, a customer would need to purchase replacement refrigerant. A simple temperature check coupled with the electrical check lets the technician know how well the system is functioning. In summary, the technician from Cape Fear conducted his work in a professional manner and did an outstanding job. I would recommend Cape Fear for anyone looking for help with HVAC, plumbing or electrical work. As I had recently purchased the heat pump, the service rendered today was done at no cost to me. I understand I have one more free service visit after this one. I had a problem with my heat pump and reached out to Cape Fear for help as the company I purchased the unit from is no longer servicing heat pumps. A technician came out on the same day I called and found that the heat pump was no longer serviceable. He called his office and a sales representative came out an hour later to determine which unit would be best to replace my old one. Later that day he sent a quote on three units and I picked one. The new one is scheduled to be installed shortly. This is one of the fastest turnaround times for replacing a heat pump that I have ever seen. During my initial contact I was told about other services that Cape Fear offers. I plan on contacting them again for some plumbing work I will need in the future. The staff ensured that I was informed of everything via text messaging and phone calls. The staff are professionals and work hard to provide excellent service. It has been awhile since I purchased the HVAC system mentioned above. I have reached out to Cape Fear again to address some plumbing needs. Just like before, a technician came out to assess my needs. He will be returning shortly to fix a problem with my shower. I was given multiple options as to how to proceed with the needed repairs. He also looked into helping me switch from my well pump to county public water. He gave me options with that as well. I would recommend Cape Fear for any plumbing issues you may have. Cape Fear’s Bobby C came out and did an extremely thorough evaluation and maintenance on our HVAC unit and crawl space dehumidifier.   He had been here before so he knew our unit.  A personable and knowledgeable young man, he explained his service work at the completion of the visit.  We have also previously used Cape Fear’s electrical and plumbing services. My technician Carlos was awesome. Quick and efficient. I enrolled in the HVAC maintenance service. You will paid once a year and get service twice a year. I will honestly said this is the first time in a while that my AC has worked throughout the whole year with no problems. Ever since I switch to this company.
